This is a superb sound document: a collection of songs that so far had only been included in the singles this British band had released throughout all its career. 17 songs rescued from limited edition singles or versions different to the album ones. "A certain evening light" is a new miracle of delicate, subtle pop; songs always pervaded with the sweet melancholy Bob endows each of his creations: transparent guitars, arrangements full of good taste, Bob’s serene and moving vocals, supported by the ethereal sweetness of Beth and Anne Mari’s female backing vocals. Production tasks, as usual in TREMBLING BLUE STARS, are carried out by Ian Catt, who has usually worked with ST ETIENNE and some Elefant artists such as NOSOTRÄSH, CARLOS BERLANGA and NIZA. There’s a hidden track not included in the credits: "Christmas & Train-Trips & Things", which originally appeared in a Christmas sampler given as a freebie at a Shinkansen night. Elefant’s edition is a special edition in digipak.
