The new Klaus&Kinski’s album, titled "Tierra, trágalos", includes 14 songs on it, with a bonus track, "Dar cera, pulir cera", on the brightly-coloured double L.P. (red vinyl). For those who were shocked and hooked with “Tu hoguera está ardiendo” (Jabalina, 2008), this second album in Klaus&kinski’s career is another proof of their versatility and eclecticism. The new release of the band starts with the forcefulness of “Ya estaba así cuando llegué”, matching with “Ley y Moral”, the first video from this album. Two hits in which Marina whispers before the noisy guitar. Then we might think that Devendra Banhart or the Incredible String Band had escaped to join in with the childish remark “Mama,no quiero ir al Colegio” (Mum, I dont want to go to school) with a cowboy-like sound. From the same family but at the other end of the record, with waves of surfing climaxes, transmitting peace and relaxation are the news brought by “El Fin del Mundo” (the End of the World”) But the changeover to country comes right away when the spirit of OMD or A Flock of Seagulls takes a hold in “Brilla, como una Estrella”. But look out! Because on arriving at track 4 we get to the true surprise with the marvellous song called "El Rey del mambo y la reina de Saba". Here we have a traditional Spanish song with all the ingredients and instruments for posterity with Marina disguised as Juanita Reina or Lolita Sevilla. This is not the only retro flash, because with a title like “Carne de Bakunin” (Meat for Bakunin) who would imagine that here the group hides a hommage to the famous anarchist with rhythms of swing, part music hall, part folk from the Steppes of Russia? Of course on the other side of the political spectrum there is another “guest” (Hitler) who starts his speech backed up by a piano which opens onto a bosanova “Deja el odio para después de comer”. Digging down into this social topic, the fact that compromise and transcendental message are present in the solemnity, through the sound of strings wich embellish the folkie sound of "Los niños muertos y la decadencia política". But there is more: catchy keyboard sounds which start to drill the barrier of guitars created by Alex in “Eres un sinvergüenza” or which become louder still in “Luego vendrán las madremías” reminding us of the Stereolab of 1996, an invitation to the dancefloor-for a moment the neon lights and the sequins seem to blind us in a 70s club-with the Italian-disco “Forma, sentido y realidad” which Baccara would have turned into a Number One all over the world and the funky touch of “Sobria y Serena” expressly histrionic with a Made in Bee Gees start as in "Saturday Night Fever" magically transformed into a sort of Mika versus Jamiroquai. The last track and a perfect ending to the record is “Desidilio” (Un-Idyll) which cound be a near relation of "Sintigo o sin ti" (included in their debut record) and which puts things back in their place...
