“Pio Pio” – Single

A really curious but utterly charming release from Teresa Iturrioz and Ibon Errazkin, both former members of Spanish indie-pop types Le Mans. Dating back to the early 90s, Le Mans’ legacy is an everything-and-the-kitchen-sink approach to cut’n’paste pop that takes in influences as diverse as cabaret and classic British folk. “Pio Pio” is chopped up like hip hop, twinkles with the melodic grace of French pop and the drama of tango. Utterly unconventional and all the better for it.
