In the category of Best Original Song: “Yo También”

Each new piece of news related to Guille or LA CASA AZUL is a true bit of joy for their fans and followers. Lately it's becoming more and more common that the news about them is about important goals in independent music and almost unique and unheard of achievements in the history of pop music in our country. After the intensity of these last years, both on the national and the international level, Guille goes even further with his Goya nomination. Whether he wins the prize or not, the fact that the song was nominated is in and of itself a well-deserved recognition of his musical talent and magnetism, a formula that is capable of crossing indie-borders, and not only in terms of music but also in terms of making a massive public fall in love, totally captivated by highly addictive melodies and lyrics.

This past Saturday, January 9th, the Goya nominees were announced. The movie "Yo, Tambien", directed by Álvaro Pastor and Antonio Naharro, and produced by Manuel Gómez Cardeña, Koldo Zuazua and Julio Medem, has been nominated for four prizes by la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España (the Academy of Art and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain) whose gala, hosted by Buenafuente, takes place in Madrid this coming February 14th. The categories in which "Yo, Tambien" is nominated are: Best Leading Actress (Lola Dueñas), Best New Actor (Pablo Pineda), Best New Director (Antonio Naharro and Álvaro Pastor) and, as we already mentioned, Best Original Song for "Yo, Tambien" by LA CASA AZUL. The nominees were announced on Saturday in a presentation ceremony with Álex de la Iglesia, president of the Academy, the actress Paz Vega and the director Javier Fesser. In addition to the four Goyas that "Yo, Tambien" is up for, other Spanish movies like "Celda 211" (directed by Daniel Monzón) is up for 16 Goyas, "Agora" (Alejandro Amenábar) is up for 13, “El Secreto de Sus Ojos” (Juan José Campanella) and “El Baile de la Victoria” (Fernando Trueba) are both up for 9, and “Gordos” (Daniel Sánchez Arévalo) is up for 8.
