COOPER: Farewell note from Alex Cooper
A timely retreat is always a victory. After 35 years dedicated to pop music, my life’s greatest passion, the time has come to say goodbye. It’s time to change paths now, to start new projects and enjoy each day in a different way. Not even a drop of sadness; the only thing I feel is grateful. To Luis and Montse at Elefant Records, for having treated my work with so much affection and passion. I am so proud to have been a part of this great label. Grateful to Cristina, Julia and my mother, strong women and a constant inspiration. Thank you also to all the musicians I have shared the road and a blanket with in LOS FLECHAZOS and COOPER. Especially to Mario Álvarez and Dani Montero for their unbreakable loyalty and their unlimited generosity. Thanks to all the media – the music press, the digital media, and radio broadcasters that have supported my career. Very especially to Radio 3. And eternal thanks to our loyal fans, the only reason for having put off this decision until now. We have had the best fans and audiences possible and I hope that my songs play in your ears for a long time. I am going to miss you so much (come see me in Leon!)
We are keeping our current concert schedule, playing what we already have scheduled and anything else that comes up, until November 9, when we will play our last farewell concert in Madrid, at Ochoymedio Club (Sala But).
Until we meet again,
Alex Cooper
