Anybody who has a slight amount of interest in Spanish scene must know LOS FLECHAZOS, and knows too well that last December 1996 they celebrated their tenth anniversary since their first gig ever, holding a party where some Spanish popstars (from LOS SALVAJES, LOS SECRETOS or LOS HERMANOS DALTON) rendered public tribute, admiration and respect. Ten years of passion for pop, eternal teenage spirit, and timeless melodies, forming one of the best careers, honest and sincere, in Spanish pop; reminding us with every step that they are the mirror which reflects a whole generation of Spanish bands, and one of the most dearly loved bands in this country.
LOS FLECHAZOS evoke the sound and aesthetics of the 60’s, pop’s golden age, but giving them a new, present-day personality. They play old and new sounds, and dye them with many colours and textures; they write unforgettable melodies with amazing facility, and cover them with such an accessible personality that they become immediately irresistible for all kinds of audiences (they are currently being discovered in Japan, Germany and the UK).
“Cansado” is the first single taken from their latest mini-LP “Días Grises”, and is released on time to coincide with that tenth anniversary. The main song is a perfect sample of the maturity and quality level reached by LOS FLECHAZOS, the perfect wrapping for a bitter thought about disillusion and disenchantment. Nevertheless, and in spite of what this lyric could suggest, LOS FLECHAZOS are stubborn and believe in what they do, gingered up by their legion of fans and for the solid reputation they have achieved on the international circuit. On the flipside, “Hiding Behind My Smile”, a classic track by Spanish 60’s band LOS IBEROS, is a fantastic closing for this great pop single.
We still have plenty of time to enjoy with LOS FLECHAZOS, and every chord in “Cansado” announces the opening of a new and even more fruitful era.
