Ah, they don’t make songs with titles like that anymore. Oh, actually, they just did. Is this just one of those difficulties in translation or a return to new wave/indie tunes where the title said it all from some political standpoint, but actually didn’t figure in the song at all?

This six-headed Swedish band have been knocking around since 2001 (even earlier in other guises) but cemented their present line-up in 2004.

Enlightened, which is taken from the band’s second album Way Better Now is like some sort of weird hybrid of Kirsty MacColl, The Wannadies, Nico and an end of pier organist pootling away on a Wurlitzer. It is also the ‘five-day favourite’ single of the week on Q Radio’s QPM show throughout this week. Tune in from 6pm each weekday.
