Speedmarket Avenue, single of the week for Steve Lamaq [BBC 6 Music]

"Way better now", the advance track taken from the forthcoming second album by this Swedish band, has been selected by prestigious BBC radio host Steve Lamacq as single of the week on his daily BBC 6 Music show. Mondays to Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m., Steve Lamacq hosts one of the most interesting and up-to-date British radio shows. A former NME writer, creator of Deceptive Records (yes, he discovered ELASTICA!), and currently in charge of various radio programmes on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 y BBC Radio 2, renowned for his ability to discover new talents, he has been swept away by the energy and vitaminic chorus in this track produced by Jari Haapalainen (Producer of ED HARCOURT, THE BEART QUARTET, THE CONCRETES or CAMERA OBSCURA, among others) that Elefant Records has just released on a beautiful white vinyl single. There’s an obvious reason why it’s conquering Britain (not only Lammo, as John Peel nicknamed him, has surrendered to this great single: many others count themselves in), as it starts to win the United States (where they’re compared to other Nordic bands such as the SHOUT OUT LOUDS) and Spain (“A Matter of Sex”, the comedy series from Cuatro TV, includes the song in its soundtrack). A song where Sibille and Isak sing urgently, taken by the electricity of guitars that fire from the very beginning of the song, never pushing down the level, thrusting a song that would undoubtedly shine in THE ESSEX GREEN’s craziest repertoire.
