Nosotr?sh's "Gloria"

It´s difficult to write about a handful of songs that I‚ve been involved in so far, and that I hope to keep on being involved in as days go by: by promoting them and playing them live; by humming them at work, over my pillow, or into the van where we spend a great deal of our weekends. It´s difficult but equally tantalizing. How to be objective in this hard task and not being found guilty of practising the wildest form of onanism -with all my respects to such a healthy activity-? One way to get this done is to temporarily adopt the shape of a fan: those amazing people that follow us with their hearts and souls, sometimes only with the latter, to every gig or every step forward in our career. We truly admire the ability of admiration that fans posess; this enables us to be more and more able to discover ourselves and keep on writing songs; they notice things we would hardly notice; their appreciations and constant support is the perfect feedback in the circle of our artistic production. I thought it was essential to comment on this.
Once adopted the form of a NOSOTRÄSH fan, I can start off by talking about the new songs, leavin‚ aside the album tracks "Gloria" -and its daily scenes of emotional survival- and what I consider a personal definition or a self-portrait song, "Corazón colilla"; both built upon upbeat rhythms by Mr Ibon Errazkin. There we find "Saeta doble". This song is a tribute to our beloved VAINICA DOBLE, and features a cameo by Spanish pop genius Fernando Alfaro: he sings with Natalia what it could be an answer to some of his writings. The words in "Saeta Doble" is a real pop wail, bitter poetry rhymed by Beatriz in order to warn a certain captain that gets the best and the worst out of her bucaneer soul. Going through such a rough, stormy weather can make you feel sort of "Perdida" ("Lost"). This is the title of the second brand new "popem": a mixture of jazz samplings and homemade tra-la-la‚s characteristic of a femme fatale that shows her vulnerable side in the interval between one drink and another, at one of the plenty parties she attends in order not to feel so lonely. "Para qué pensar" brings a post-folk-rock moment of serene pondering after the storm, courtesy of Natalia and her deep nostalgia for another life; luckily those wounds are getting healed little by little. The end of this battle of passions and affection, as it usually happens in this band, means a re-encounter with NOSOTRÄSH; we console each other with acoustic caresses and we keep on walking by with regained self-confidence, not neccesarily due to the fact we‚ve been said "sorry" or "you're right", "Porque total..."
I haven't mentioned Montse Álvarez, the author of "Tanga". This is one of the prettiest, catchiest "popems" of the season, about someone in a cozy harbour that observes the multiple shapes adopted by love. This song will be included in a compilation to be released throughout this year, to be enjoyed only by the ones who know better.
I also want to thank all the people that has collaborated in this EP; specially the team based in Madrid; though NOSOTRÄSH has been growing into a boundless, divine team during all these years.
