A Collection of Horror, Mystery, Science Fiction, Monstrous and Paranormal Phenomenon Stories
Here at Elefant Records we have always been huge fans of B movies, science fiction, fantasy, Star Wars, Superman, Star Trek, The Jetsons, Dracula, horror films from the 50s, from Hammer productions, from Troma, and of groups who take that same passion to their music. That’s why, since this coming September 13th falls on a Friday, we have decided to release three volumes with thirteen songs each (39 songs in all) dedicated to this universe that we love so much, all of which were previously released by Elefant Records. The selection also serves as a look back at our history as a label for the last 30-plus years, and for that alone it is especially exciting for us. There are historic groups like LA MONJA ENANA, PATRULLERO MANCUSO, FAMILY, COLA JET SET, BAND À PART, NOSOTRÄSH, JUNIPER MOON, LE MANS, LA CASA AZUL, THE PRIMITIVES, TELEFILME, METEOSAT and LINDA GUILALA. There are also groups that were a must for this collection because, like us, they are obsessed with this subject, and appear several times, like PAPA TOPO, AXOLOTES MEXICANOS, MODULAR, AMOR BUTANO and EL AVIADOR DRO Y SUS OBREROS ESPECIALIZADOS. There are also groups who created really special moments with their radically fantastic and magical styles like GOMET, CORAZÓN and STORMCLOUDS. And of course, we also have representation from the newest round of Elefant’s contemporary groups like MARINITA PRECARIA, CHAVALES, AIKO EL GRUPO and NOS MIRAN. Ultimately, what we have here is a really fun compilation full of punk, pop and electronic sounds, the perfect soundtrack for this upcoming Friday the 13th, and of course for Halloween, World UFO Day, or any phantasmagorical event. The fantastic – in all senses of the word – album cover is by Raquel Calvo (DondeEstáMiPollo). This is a terrifically enjoyable compilation!
