Isar 12

ISAR 12 is a exciting techno pop duo that stood out in "Roo 3003", a compilation devoted to show the world the best pop and electronica acts that have come out of Germany in the last years. They featured the compilation roster, among such important names as MOUSE ON MARS or ANDREAS DORAU. Afterwards they would take part in our "Casablanca" compilation, with a truly delightful track in which they were helped by our beloved Laetitia STEREOLAB.

The list of friends of ISAR 12 is really impressive, and this exclusive single is a clear evidence: pay attention to the old synthesizer (a thowiphon, to be more accurate) that features the title track. It’s played by Peter Thomas, the famous composer of film and tv soundtracks, unforgettable thanks to "Space Patrol Orion", to name only his most popular work. But this notorious collaboration shouldn’t overshadow the song itself, a very endearing glam rock techno pop track featuring some charming female backing vocals.

"Olympia" situates us at the Olympic Games of 1972, which took place in Munich, where the band comes from. Next cut, "Iceland Air", talks about an air hostess that only manages to be happy when she’s flying, as things doesn’t go too well for her down in the ground. As she happens to work for an Icelandic company, who else than Daniel Agust (GUS GUS) could announce better the flight departure at the beginning of the song? We told you, ISAR 12’s contact list is really impressive.

The single is completed by a mysterious sitar song ("Indien") and a report on Achim’s attendance to an IRON MAIDEN show in1998, his very first heavy metal concert! ISAR 12 have a very good sense of humour, and that shouldn’t interfere in the appreciation of the great talent of ISAR 12 at writing excellent techno pop songs, like the four ones included in this single.
