CINERAMA is David Lewis Gedge’s new project. The lead singer and guitarist of the legendary THE WEDDING PRESENT surprised everyone when “Va Va Voom”, CINERAMA’s luscious debut album, was released last year. Accompanied by Sally Murrell and a vast list of famous collaborators from bands like THE CHURCH, THE DELGADOS o ANIMALS THAT SWIM), David showed he was perfectly able to develop a new sound, completely different to the music produced within his other well-known band. The album was formed by a collection of soft, sophisticated songs full of lushy arrangements which helped to emphasize David’s genuine talent at writing perfect pop songs.
Elefant is honoured to release CINERAMA’s new single: two brand new songs not included in the album. Two very different songs, that show the versatility of the band.
“Pacific” is sung and whispered by Sally. The tracks boasts a subtle dancey beat, ornamented by seductive arrangements: flutes, pianos and strings.
“King’s Cross” is sung by David, revealing us his most romantic and fragile side. Don’t look for the frantic wall of guitars THE WEDDING PRESENT specialized in. CINERAMA is something much more atmospheric and sparse. Though his voice is as personal and unmistakable as ever.
