The third SOUVENIR album is a walk on a tightrope of different styles and moods which has given their tightest, a brilliant collection of songs. Patricia and Jaime’s beautiful sonic landscapes for 2005 are confirmed in these ten gorgeous, optimistic portraits of daily life, in which they drift away from the melancholia of their previous records. This album opens a new musical path for SOUVENIR, in which the piano has been central to the composition of many of these exquisite, sophisticated tunes. The arrangements have been kept simple but brilliant, which has resulted in a classic record in which the elements are at the same time traditional and eccentric. The result is a jovial, playful set of songs in which Patricia’s vocals have reached a high point in her evolution as a singer.
