DEDICATESSEN Vol. 8
Limited Edition 500 copies in white colour vinyl, including a download coupon of this album in digital format (MP3 - 320 kbps).
Pumuky continue expanding their boundaries on this white traslucent vinyl 7" single for our DEDICATESSEN collection, entitled “Pumuky y el eterno femenino”. With their sight firmly on the musical horizon, these new songs both explore paths opened on their latest release "Plus ultra" (Jabalina 2011), and venture into new territories, bound by the subject they have chosen for this record. The eternal feminine, as evoked by Goethe, proveides the leitmotiv and fuels this new bunch of songs. The eternal feminine is interpreted here as the intrinsic beauty of females, the guts and sex of the whole universe, a concept which includes mothers, lovers and sisters, an eternal, platonic model which refers not just to physical beauty, but to the principles of love and grace as a stairway to a superior place, a bridge to divinity. For brothers Jaír and Noé Ramírez (now officially a duo), any occasion is good to take us on a trip to their own private universe. On 'El eterno femenino' the trip is a Faustian one, a true quest for truth and beauty and against pesimism, from the point of view restless dreamer. These songs convey a criticism of modern man, a barabarian conqueror which is responsible for the moral crisis of this era. Side A contains the song which entitles and conveys the concept of the record. “El eterno femenino y el sexo del Universo” works as a long intro full of dark guitars ans synthesizers, like a slow-tempo slowcore mantra. Side B opens with "Taganana Chorus Mysticus", a Lo-Fi piece which tells the fatal love story of man, who has fallen from woman's grace and fights to go back to the feminine sexual knot, to recover the meaning of his existence. Album closer "Buscando a mamá emperoratriz en Suicide Avenue" is wrapped in a Kraut-pop mood.
