They're back to take part in our Jabalina Love Songs collection. After recording for Jabalina their two first albums, "AMA" (Jabalina 2002) and "A un metro de mi" (Jabalina 2005), and going solo on their third one, "Exposición permanente" (Los enanos gigantes, 2009), this is their first vinyl record, which obviously had to be yellow. The A-side contains two original songs: "Yo no te quiero", a playful hit song which makes a declaration of love sound really funny, complete with great boy-girl duo vocals (Javier & Mireia), and "La poesía", a more romantic track, wich at first reminded us of the pastoral AMA sound of their first songs, but which is soon enriched by a stinging electric guitar on which delicate lyrics are delivered. The B-side is a cover version of Domi Delgado (Familia Real), an obscure punk rocker from the 80s and 90s, a real cult figure who wrote great songs like "Hoy va a llover", a tune which refreshes our memory and our conscience. All the songs in this single have the classic AMA feel, but augmented by the uplifting qualities of their latest release, "Exposición permanente". The band is at moment made up by Borja Sánchez (guitar and vocals), Yon Vidaur (keyboards and programming), Jon Intxausti (drums), Ander Vidaur (bass) and Javier Sánchez (vocals and guitar), a quintet which has given the band a sound reminiscent of memorable 80s Scottish bands such as THE VASELINES or THE PASTELS. Greatness!
