One Avenue TV [En]: Modular Is Bringing Disco Back With A Techno Touch VIDEO

Modular Is Bringing Disco Back With A Techno Touch – Watch

Modular is an indie band based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, namely Mariana Badaracco and Pablo Dahy. They released a new video last week for ‘Fiebre En La Disco‘, along with a preview of their third album titled Fuga Al Paraíso” (escape to Paradise), which is set to release in March. I am loving the disco dancers, the space theme club, and the vintage touch (complete with the lava lamps!). Modular it seems is revisiting the  disco lore, while avoiding the reconstitution of a classic disco environment. They have given a new visualization of how disco could be viewed by disco addicted aliens in the future (yeah, you read that right). Also, just as it is difficult for historians to pinpoint a moment in ancient history to the year, decades are a bit blurred here, which is why late 70’s elements are mixed with older 60’s ones.     Star Wars Goes EDM     It brings a refreshing taste to the music scene as it is a homage to Cosmic Disco, which was a era of disco genre mixed with Sci-Fi influences. It is a different take that the duo has taken with revisiting disco as its a bit of a departure in style from what they usually do. Their initial two albums were influenced by  60’s, 70’s psychedelic pop combined with a retro, techno flavor.

This single has also been remixed by Copy Cat Project, which is a Russian electric band. This remix also enhances the sound, the tune on the single, bringing a more EDM vibe with it in a way, which is subtle and yet you feel it on the track. These vintage influences on the track along with the remix, definitely make it a unique blend for the audience.
