Leaf fall is over

They grew, they fell, so fast

I close my eyes and dive into the darkness

Away, away from this fragile failing frame

But I open them to this room

A golden evening long since passed

A whole life ahead

The final rays and then the fade

To this single bed

One setting sun

Two silhouettes

 

All I want is to escape but I cannot run
