When the child in you meets the child in me

And the children with you walk with the children with me

Then peace will come to the green green land  

And finally I will understand

 

The ferryboat waiting by the shore

A father waving from a darkened door

They’re taking his children to the promised land

 And then one day they will understand

 

The children play by the sycamore tree

The lone star shines above the sea

And soon we’ll be in the green green land

And come that day we will understand
