New record by this Argentinian trio who deliver dreamy electronic pop gems with which they are conquering the hearts of modern pop lovers all over the world. A record that’s based in synthesizers, in real time sound modulations (hence the album’s title, “Wave”), recorded between January and March 2005: a Southern hemisphere summer record.
In “Onda” ENTRE RÍOS give a perfect shape to their personal, fascinating mix of pop and electronics (as if FAMILY had known Morr Music’s repertoire, as they were once defined), and the sound of the synthesizers prevails along the album. There some keyboard sounds that come directly from the 80’s, but always in the context of electronic manipulation and emotional songwriting that is characteristic to the band, often compared to a more melodic LALI PUNA or a more experimental SAINT ETIENNE. As with these bands, ENTRE RÍOS is a band that works in the present day, playing pop music that sounds new and fresh, as all pop music should always sound.
